What happens when a Unicorn sheds a tear? Why, all its magic is concentrated in that beautiful little droplet; a droplet full of wonder and amazement and more beauty than you could possibly imagine...and just like with snowflakes, each tear is unique. So I'm collecting these rare and incredible droplets as I find them, and encapsulating them in a new series of necklace pendants, called, "Unicorn Tears."
"Unicorn Tear Necklace No. 1" is a mystical work of art, a tiny and gorgeous optical illusion. At some angles, the stone appears somewhat transluscent and clear-ish in color...but at others, and against the skin, deep hues of lavender emerge, with bold flares of minty greens and paraiba blues. The colors are unexpectedly forceful for such a petite crystal boulder opal. These effects are enhanced by the crystal body toward the left side of the stone and the strip of ironstone (a benchmark of boulder opal), on the backside of its upper right; these different make-ups help create the incredible visual effects we see as we gaze into the stone's facade.
This delicate beauty is framed by a 14k yellow gold bezel, with open back, and a polished finish to compliment the flashes of color that spark from the center stone. The setting's custom bail, allows this petite opal pendant to swing freely along its delicate chain. Just like the beautiful beast this tear fell from, it too should roam free.
