HOW DO I KNOW WHAT RING SIZE TO ORDER?

The best way to feel confident about your ring size is to stop by a local jewelry store and ask them to size you. A professional jeweler will do this for free, and with a smile. You will want to have them size the finger you plan to wear the ring on and tell them the width and shape of the band so they use the correct sizers. We make all of our rings in US sizes and can adjust to any quarter size within the listed range.

CAN YOU MAKE INTERNATIONAL RING SIZES?

There are often slight variations between conversion charts from one international size to another. For that reason, we do ask that you provide us with your US ring size when placing your order. We want to create a piece that fits you perfectly upon arrival.

I DON’T SEE MY SIZE.  CAN YOU MAKE IT?

Maybe — it depends on the piece. Send us an email at hello@NIXINjewelry.com and let us know what you’re looking for. If it’s a larger size or a thicker band, there may be an upcharge for the increase in gold, but it can almost always be done. If you're seeking a size outside of the range shown for an Opal ring, it might not be possible to do so without risking damage to the stone. We'll let you know what we think when we speak.

WILL I RECEIVE THE EXACT PIECE SHOWN IN THE PHOTOS?

If purchasing a one-of-a-kind item, then yes — you will receive the exact piece shown in the photos.

If purchasing a made-to-order item, your piece will not be the exact one shown in the photo, but rather a close likeness. Since we use natural gemstones, and our jewelry is lovingly handmade, there will be some variability from piece to piece. This is what makes each item unique. We select the most beautiful stones available to recreate the same style as is represented in our images for our made-to-order items.

ARE THE IMAGES ON YOUR SITE TO SCALE?

No, the images are not to scale. We include enlarged photos to help show you the fine details of the jewelry.  We also include additional shots that show the pieces at other angles and in various types of lighting.

To help you understand the scale of our jewelry, whenever possible, we include photographs or videos of the items worn by a model. We also include item descriptions with the dimensions of the jewelry. Should you have additional questions regarding the size of any of our items, we would be happy to answer them at hello@NIXINjewelry.com.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE UNTIL MY ORDER ARRIVES?

Turnaround time is quoted as 4-6 weeks to create or resize jewelry and then your order ships. Although we do kindly ask for this full window, we always do our best to work as quickly as possible, and we often deliver in a fraction of this time. If you've worked with us before, you know we're pretty good about this, but we're a small team, so your patience and understanding are so greatly appreciated.

More on Domestic and International Shipping can be found here.

WILL I BE CHARGED TAX?

We are compliant with current tax regulations. For domestic orders, if applicable, taxes will automatically be calculated at checkout.

International orders are subject to customs related fees (ie: duties/vat/taxes) per the receiving country's policies. These fees are determined by each individual country and are the responsibility of the client.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SATIN AND POLISH FINISH?

Satin is a matte finish; imagine taking a brillo pad and brushing it over the surface of the gold.

Polish is a smooth, shiny finish.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY JEWELRY?

Fine jewelry is delicate; that’s part of what makes it so beautiful. Like all delicate things, it needs to be treated with care. There are a number of things you can do - and avoid doing - to help keep your jewelry in its best shape.

Cuffs

When ordering cuff rings or bracelets, please order in the size you need and do not bend them open or shut.  These rings are not created as “adjustable” pieces.  Bending them open and closed will put your pieces at risk and can release any set stones.

Exposure

We recommend removing your jewelry when hand washing or during exposure to abrasive cleaning agents or chemicals (ie: showering, swimming, house cleaning, applying lotions or perfumes). We also recommend removal prior to rigorous activity where your jewelry may catch or hit against another surface. It’s even prudent to remove jewelry while sleeping, and avoid exposure to rapid shifts in temperature.

Checks

Periodically check your stone settings. If a prong is broken, a gemstone is rattling, or fabric catches on a prong, contact hello@NIXINjewelry.com for support. When putting on necklaces and earrings, be sure clasps and backings are securely in place.

Cleaning

Different stone types tolerate different types of cleaning. Don’t ever hesitate to send us an email to ask about your specific piece and how to most appropriately clean it. There are many soft and or porous stones, such as opals, turquoise and pearls, that require much gentler care than the standard diamond. Please see our blog on Opal Care to learn more about cleaning Solid Opal Jewelry. We do not recommend using ultrasonic cleaners or chemical cleaning agents as they may damage some of our pieces and are known to release pave diamonds from their setting.

We do offer a gentle cleaning agent on-site that is safe to use on most jewelry (including Opals), though we always recommend testing a small area prior to doing a full cleaning. We offer a bottle version of our foaming NIXIN Jewelry Cleaner to handle your jewelry cleaning at home and a Jewelry Cleaning Pen you can fit in your purse and take with you wherever you go.

Storage

We always recommend storing delicate jewelry carefully so that it is protected from damage. Storage in a hard jewelry box is ideal. Putting each item in its own soft pouch or ziplock bag, within the box, helps protect the surfaces from scratching one another. Storing chains clasped, with the very ends sticking out of the bag is the best way to prevent tangling. Wearing your Opal Jewelry will be the best way to keep it in good shape, but if you plan to store it for extended periods, consider keeping a gently moistened cloth alongside it.

Repair

We want you to be able to enjoy your goods, and are happy to help you with repairs at a reasonable repair rate, should you ever need assistance. Just reach out to hello@NIXINjewelry.com for assistance.
