Blush pink lit with flashes of blue, green, and violet: the Hanami Australian Opal Necklace centers on an oval crystal boulder Opal, set east-west in 14k rose gold claw prongs. A scalloped halo of Sapphires in varying sizes embraces the stone, scattered like cherry blossom petals on a spring breeze, their shifting ombré hues from soft peach and pink at the crown to lavender and violet below.

Named for hanami, the Japanese tradition of gathering beneath cherry trees in full bloom, this pendant holds the whole season in stone. It hangs from a fine rose gold cable chain. On the reverse, a discreet engraving is reserved for the one who wears it. A singular piece for the collector who pauses to savor beauty while it lasts.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

• Caring For Your Jewelry:
Fine jewelry is delicate and should be treated with care. Avoiding any chemical exposures (ie: chlorine, lotion, etc…) and removing your jewelry during rigorous activity (ie: exercise or gardening) or at times of potential impact is advised. Please contact us at hello@nixinjewelry.com for assistance if your stone is loose or your setting is catching.

• Cleaning Your Jewelry:
Soft and or porous stones such as (solid) Opals, Turquoise, or even Pearls, can be cleaned with a soft toothbrush and warm soapy water. Diamonds are harder, but not impervious to damage — the care instructions above are safe to apply. Unless specifically recommended by us, we advise against the use of chemical cleaners on your NIXIN Jewelry. Avoid ultrasonic devices with soft and porous gemstones as well as pave. Have your jewelry professionally cleaned as needed.

• Opal Jewelry Cleaner:
We do offer a gentle cleaning agent on-site that is safe to use on most jewelry (including Opals), though we always recommend testing a small area prior to doing a full cleaning. We offer a bottle version of our foaming NIXIN Jewelry Cleaner to handle your jewelry cleaning at home and a Jewelry Cleaning Pen you can fit in your purse and take with you wherever you go.

INSPIRATION

The Hanami Australian Opal Necklace draws inspiration from hanami, the centuries-old Japanese tradition of gathering beneath cherry trees in full bloom, and from sakura-fubuki, the “cherry blossom blizzard” that follows, when the wind sets the petals loose all at once. At its heart, a blushing pink crystal boulder opal captures that fleeting moment, its soft rosy body glowing with pastel blue-green fire like hazakura—the tender green leaves said to arrive just as the last blossoms let go. The custom 14k rose gold setting echoes the opal’s blush with romantic warmth, making it a true work of fine jewelry art.

Surrounding the opal, a graduated halo of pink, lavender, and purple sapphires drifts outward in a soft, scalloped flow, mirroring petals as they scatter on the breeze. This gradient not only evokes a sky full of falling blossoms but also honors the Japanese belief that the scattering is as beautiful as the bloom—a transformation rather than an ending. As light moves across the stone, gentle flashes of blue and green emerge from its blush-pink depths, like the first leaves of spring appearing among the flowers.

On the reverse, a discreet engraving waits like a secret whispered beneath the branches, reserved for the one who wears it. This necklace is ultimately a tribute to those who pause to savor beauty while it lasts, celebrating both the bloom and the graceful letting go.
